Laying Down The Law

January 28th, 2010 · Comments Off

Dogblog QOTD

The year is 2022 (The first year you’ll be eligible to run) and you get elected as a congressional representative. Fortunately for you, your party really likes you (because you’re a brilliant rising star) so they let you write your first law in your first session of Congress. What do you want to be a new rule of the land? Why? Who is it going to affect most?

By the way, unfortunately for you, the President is someone you know…your middle school computers teacher! Remember that guy? Small world. He’ll veto any law which is too ridiculous or wouldn’t work in the world

100 Bucks

January 27th, 2010 · Comments Off

DogBlog QOTD

Title your post with (Your Name) Hundred Dollar Bill Y’all

Suppose you found a hundred bucks on the ground. As soon as you pick it up a genie pops up and says that you must give 40 of it to someone else and you may use 60 of it for yourself. If not, you will have to spend the rest of your life in the lamp with the Genie. (Please remember that in this situation, only you find the money. Not everyone else in the class.)

Who do you give the 40 to and what do you spend the 60 on? Why?

Encore I

Working on your project (see yesterday’s post).

Encore II

Finishing your flyer. When you’re done, you can check your email, play typing games in Mavis Beacon, or go to Cool Math Games. We will turn in all the assignments together at the end of the period.

DogBlog QOTD

Many parents give their children an allowance regardless of behavior because they believe it teaches financial responsibility. Other parents give an allowance based upon the completion of chores because it teaches personal responsibility. Which do you think is more important? Why? Which option would you choose if you were a parent?
