Today I swear that I am going to introduce pages! We’re going to look at the basic functions and get comfortable with the interface.

We’re going to be finishing our flyers today. If you are done and haven’t made a Flu Awareness poster, please see the post below this one for the tips to make your poster about. If you’re confused, ask Swanson.

Encore II

7th graders are finishing their School Poster project and moving onto their Flu Awareness poster.

Required elements for the School Poster are:

• Text enhancements: Bigger size, different font, color, etc.
• Shapes with a gradient or picture fill
• Text boxes linked together
• Multiple graphic objects, some with color enhancements, strokes, shadows, etc.
• a table
• a Chart/Graph

When done with that, talk to Swanson about your next project.

The Safety Tips

• Wash hands frequently with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid or minimize contact with sick people (a minimum three feet distancing is recommended).
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
• Cover your mouth and nose with tissues when you cough and sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow.
• Stay away from others as much as possible when you are sick.

Today we’re going to DogBlog, then we’re going to explore Mavis Beacon and take the first couple of lessons together. If time allows we will begin to explore Pages.

We’re continuing to work on our flyers for clubs/campus activities. Ask Swanson if you need logos etc.

Encore I

First, we are going to check out DogBlogs and import our entry from yesterday and create a new entry for today. Then we’re going to be opening up Mavis Beacon and exploring that software and completing some lessons.

Encore II

We are going to look at how to adjust layers in Pages to create backgrounds, as well as use text boxes to break apart blocks of text to make them visually appealing on a poster. We will decide on poster topics and begin to lay them out.

Hello 6th and 7th graders! You’ve come across my classroom blog, probably mostly because I’m showing it to you on the board.

If you don’t know me, I’m Mr. S Swanson. I’ll let the video explain more about me and what this class is.

Good stuff there. As for today, we’re going to get to know each other a little bit. You’d be surprised at how little you might know people still!
