Wednesday Update?
December 17th, 2008 · Comments Off
Geez Mr. Swanson, falling behind on the updates.
This last week of school we’re going hard on our new History Alive! books with Chapter 23. We’re taking a more academic look at the Maya. Yesterday we talked about the change from BC and AD to BCE and CE in the academic realm. That’s Before Common Era and Common Era for those who haven’t encountered a recent printed history textbook yet.
Today we went to the school library to get a lesson from the librarian on using research resources in the library. Shocking, I know.
Tomorrow, we’re going to try and finish chapter 23. Emphasis on try. It’s a little longer than I’d like.
Friday, we’re going to have a Fiesta in the classroom to celebrate achievement in second quater Social Studies! Expect your scholar to talk to you tomorrow about that.

Mimi is done! Tomorrow we’re doing a RAP (Restate, Answer, Prove) Response in the form of Noteworthy News.
Also, I upgraded the blogging software to WordPress 2.7 It doesn’t look any different on the front, but the back end is a lot spiffier and should make things run ever so slightly faster! Neat!
